The “Twenty Something Finances” Carnival – Upbeat Edition

April 27th, 2009

Welcome to the UPBEAT edition of the “Twenty Something Finances” Carnival! All of us, in some points in our lives, go through ebbs and flows that either have us feeling down or have us feeling positive. I must say, I have recently broken out of one of the ‘down’ cycles (due to illness) and am ascending my way to the upbeat side!

Have you watched the news lately? More than likely you’ll be greeted to a barrage of negative reporters explaining how the economy is failing. Turn that crap off! Instead of focusing on the negative news, we should learn to focus on the positive solutions. Maybe the downturn in the economy is because WE are getting smarter with our money. Maybe something finally struck that has told us not to waste our resources on things that don’t matter. Maybe we, as consumers, are smarter!

In my opinion, it would not be as bad if we were not constantly told about how bad it is. It all comes down to confidence. If a company exec. is not feeling confident, he is most likely to instill that in his company and his production. The vicious cycle begins when more and more do this. So, a combination of smarter consumers and downbeat media are playing into the wavering economy’s hands. Maybe we should set all that aside and begin to rejoice for a stronger and brighter future!

On to the links: I would like to thank everyone for contributing to the carnival. There are many very well-written articles and I have taken the time to read all of them. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I have. Please pay attention to the special Upbeat section of the carnival below the Featured section to see some hand-picked posts that go along with the theme. Enjoy!
